I have had 3 transmission re-builds beginning June 08 in, Metairie La., then 2 in December 08 in Cedar Falls Iowa (had car for 5 days christmas week, car in shop 4.5 weeks, got back Jan 09) and the 3rd also in Dec 08. AAmco installed a defective torque converter during re-build No. 2 which destroyed my aftercooler in my radiator. They then installed an add-on after cooler, and while installing re-build No. 3 broke one of my tie rods which I had replaced early 08. Vehicle still gave trouble, went to local mechanic installed new radiator and he found 2 disconnected vaccum lines. Vehicle improved somewhat, in the meantime AAMCO Cedar Falls went out of business. On 02-02-09 I lost reverse gear and maybe headed towards re-build No. 4 which I will pay out of pocket and have local mechanic in Cedar Falls Iowa do even though my vehicle is still under warranty as I no longer trust AAMCO. To date between rental vehicles, radiator , installation and 2nd party check over of vehicle my AAMCO warranty has cost me over $ 1,600.00 on top of the initial $3,300.00 for re-build No. 1 .AAMCO corporate has been no help whatsoever. I now face the cost of re-build No. 4 and a car rental in addition to what has already been spent.
