I took my 2003 Honda accord to get the transmission rebuilt at their 8225 East Butherus Drive – Airpark Scottsdale, AZ 85260 location. I had called and asked for a quote. I spoke with Dave and he had checked prior Accord rebuilt and quoted me at around $1800. I had my car towed there from the Pinnacle Nissan dealership who wanted $3600 for a transmission swap. AAMCO took out the transmission and inspected it. Dave then called me and told me it was actually going to be 3985 with the motor mounts replaced. Since I was having Pinnacle pay for the portion of the repairs I asked them to contact Pinnacle and tell them the costs. I was told that Pinnacle had “okayed” the costs. I said it was okay to go ahead and work on the vehicle. I later got notice from Pinnacle that they had not in fact approved the cost. Although, it was too late since the vehicle had already been repaired. Pinnacle supplied me with a new car the date approx 10/14. I and a manager at Pinnacle agreed on 3300 to
pay and I would pay the rest. Now it has taken me a couple of weeks to scramble up the $685 that I needed for the rest of the repairs. I called AAMCO just last week asking to drop the price since they had originally told me $1800. They said that the cost was not over $4200 since they thought my car was abandoned and had it impounded. I told them they never approved that with me. I have recently posted a negative review on google search. I got a call back from Dave. I told him I was more than willing to pay the $3985 but I was not going to pay the impound fees since I never approved that. Dave told me that I was lucky I wasn’t getting charged $25 a night just for my car being there.
I am not sure what I can do at this point. My car is fianced and they know that.. Dave flat out told me that I would NEVER get my car back if i did not pay the impound fees.
Thanks,
Megan
