I got ripped of by Aamco at 61st and Lancaster ave. in Philadelphia,Pa. They had no idea what was wrong.
They went fishing with my money .They first told me it might be electrical. Possible low cost. Then it wasn’t electrical. Next cost $1600. Upon opening the trans another $800 for a total 0f $2400. I dropped car of initially on a Saturday. They close at 12 on Saturday .I called at 11. He said it might be electrical he’ll call me back in an hour or so. I called in 2 hours and they were closed. They never called me and left me hanging until Monday. Monday they say $1600 and will be finished in 2 or 3 days. Tuesday I’m called …$2400. and will be done in a couple of days.I’m called Thursday ,it will be done Friday early.I”m called Friday and it will be done Friday 6.pm. I can’t get it until Saturday am.I told him I need it by 10am Saturday.He guarantees that because it will definitely be done Friday evening. I get there Saturday 9am ,car isn’t finished .Manager (Glen Jackson) blames mechanic because he left too soon Friday night and didn’t come in early Saturday. Car is pulled out 10 am for road test . Car has problem (very similar to initial problem). Now I have to leave and I go back Monday (10 days after drop off ).I ask if he could compensate for all the problems and lost time. He said ,sarcastically that he could charge me more .I pay $2400 and say that he should be wearing a mask the way he is stealing my money. He shouts at me an calls me an “ignorant fucking bastard “about 4 times in front of other customers. I pull car out and it has a problem .It is making a noise from the transmission. they put it on a lift .I ask Glen “How should i feel about this” .He said “You should be pissed because I am now”. I’m out $ 2400 he received $2400. I’d rather be on his end.
Car got “fixed” in another 20 minutes.
Bait and switch.
Horrible service .
No car 10 days.
No return phone call Saturday.
Left hanging 2 Saturdays in a row.
I’m not sure what the car really needed. How can I trust this terrible manager?
